I Surrender All ~ Book Review and Giveaway

I am so excited to share a new book from bestselling author Priscilla Shirer. Her latest work calls women to radically follow Christ, encouraging them to not fear what following Jesus might cost them but to fear what they are missing by withholding anything from Him. This book is a fervent appeal and invitation to surrender everything to Jesus.

Priscilla shares how we are to follow Him not just as our Savior but as our priority, our first love, our Lord. To move beyond being a believer to becoming His disciple. Because there is a BIG difference. Salvation is a gift of God. It’s free. It’s grace. It’s the cross.

My Thoughts

If you are looking for a feel-good about yourself and a make me feel comfortable about myself book, this is not for you! BUT if you want to turn your life over completely to God and be a real disciple for Jesus, then order this book. Priscilla is honest and cuts to the chase when she writes about the cost of being a disciple. I was so excited for this book because like many I absolutely loved her in the movie War Room. Then I listened to her speak a few times and I just love her honesty and emotion. She isn’t about the whole “God wants you to just be happy, so you do you” movement. Thank God for that!! I like honest teachers, those who are not afraid to tell you that there will be a cost and at times it might hurt but it’s SO WORTH IT!

Within the first few pages, I went to gather my highlighters because there was so much in this book that I hope to share with others and reflect on myself. While I read this book by myself and there are self-reflection questions at the end of each chapter, this would be a good book to read with other Godly women. Being a disciple requires accountability and being connected with like-minded women.
