Growing Closer To God with CSB Women’s Study Bible

Currently, I use the same study Bible I have owned since 2005 but have wanted to get an additional one. I have looked around many times but nothing really caught my eye. When given the opportunity to look and review the CSB Women’s Study Bible I was very interested as I have been involved in more women ministries at our local church. But beyond the target audience being women for this Bible, it has many other wonderful features.

This Bible was created by a team of women who love Scripture and want to help you engage with
it meaningfully, this Bible is packed with verse-by-verse study notes, word studies, profiles of women in the Bible, devotional content, and tools to help you live out what you’re learning. I received the hardcover version of the Bible, the cover is a beautiful dark blue with a floral design. Beyond the cover is so many wonderful features:

  • More than 8,000 Study Notes
  • 96 profiles of important Christians throughout church history
  • Over 70 word studies of key words used throughout the Bible
  • 34 full-length articles expanding on key truths and important topics for women
  • 37 “Essential Doctrine” callouts
  • 145+ photographs
  • 30+ charts
  • 25+ maps

A few of my favorite features are the book introductions that included book specific outlines and timelines. This is something that my current study Bible does not have so I enjoy reading them. One reason I typically shy away from hardcover Bibles is that fact that it does not lay flat. This is not the case with this Bible, even when you open to the first introduction page it lays flat! It contains two ribbon markers to save your place for ease of referencing. The text is double column and the size is 9.5 which at first I thought sounded small but it was easy to read on the pages. Working alongside women and encouraging them on their journey with God I found this Bible to be very helpful with the articles on different topics women often find themselves facing. The only thing I wish this Bible had was larger margins for notes. I will need to devise some sort of way to put notes in this Bible that will not be too messy looking. Also, the pages are thin so be sure to test your highlighters before you mark a large portion of text.
