Five Minute Friday ~ Perhaps

Perhaps…I’ll get to finish my to do list today.

This is a goal of mine each day and I will be quite honest, I tend to fail at accomplishing this frequently. It is certainly not for a lack of trying though, it just happens that things during the day turn out differently.

When feeding the chickens in the morning, I sometimes find a hole in the fence they escape from and that needs repairing. This was not on my list.

Working in the garden and I find out something is eating my plants, a plan to stop this must be enacted. This was not on my list.

The lawns needs to be tended but it rained and the grass can’t be mowed.

While making a list can be helpful to keep me on task, it does frustrate me when I can’t get through it.

But God reminds me that each moment is His and to be thankful for noticing the hole in the fence for the chickens, which could spare them from becoming a meal for a predator. To be thankful for seeing the garden has an unwanted dinner guest and we have the means to solve this. To be able to slow down when it rains and be thankful for the moments of rest. Perhaps I will be more productive some days but also be gentle with myself if I don’t accomplish the exact things on my list because I was tending to other needs.
