Jesus Revolution Now Available on Digital ~ A Movie Review

I went to see the movie at the theater when it was first released. It was refreshing to have a movie that was centered around the love Jesus has for His people in the theaters. If you haven’t heard yet Jesus Revolution is a powerful film about Jesus’ radical love for His children and the impact His love has on us!

I certainly was happy to watch this movie again. There are still moments that I get chills and tears of joy watching people give their hearts to Jesus and be baptized. Seeing this historical moment in our history leads me to pray for another Jesus Revolution. Now you can watch this movie from the comfort of your own home by purchasing the digital HD.

In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unex-pected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a JESUS REVOLUTION. 

I was born after the Jesus Revolution, so I did not have any idea about the background or basis of the movie. However, I have heard of Greg Laurie and being a follower of Jesus, I was interested in seeing this movie. Kelsey Grammer pulls off a great performance, as does Jonathan Roumie.

I saw this movie by myself in the theater. While this movie does show drug use, overdose, and the idea of promiscuity I wouldn’t refrain from allowing my young teen from watching this movie. I do think my husband and I would talk to her beforehand and discuss some of the behaviors. I don’t think the issues dealt in the movie are matters not faced in today’s society. But parents should be aware of this and watch the movie beforehand so they can talk with their children if need be.

While watching Jesus Revolution I was reminded of the love Jesus has for ALL His children. There are times when God calls us out of our comfort zones, puts people in our path to help us love more like Jesus.
